Trump Eclipsed

All will agree that this 2020 election is one for the books.  And it is not over yet.  For all of us, it has been a lesson in civics.  Although the media usually calls the election on election night, it is not official until the states certify that election.  States have different dates by which they have to certify according to the laws of that state.  Most states have to certify by mid to late November.  California has until Dec 11th. Then the Electoral College votes. The Electoral College meets on the “first Monday after the second Wednesday in December”.  This year that is December 14th.  Then on January 6th Congress meets in joint session where the President of the Senate opens and certifies the electoral votes.

There is a Lunar Eclipse on November 30th and a Solar Eclipse on December 14th.  These are significant dates in the process and they impact the natal chart of Donald Trump.

In astrology eclipses are strong indicators of change.  The degree of any particular eclipse reacts to planetary transits to that degree.  In essence, eclipse degrees remain “hot” for months, and even years

Donald Trump was born at a Lunar Eclipse.  That eclipse occurred at 23 degrees across the Gemini/Sagittarius axis.  This is a “hot” degree for Trump.

As you delve deeper into astrological lore, the pre-natal eclipse, the closest eclipse that occurs before you were born can play a significant role in the individual’s life.  That degree remains “hot” throughout the individual’s life.

Donald Trump’s pre-natal Solar Eclipse occurred a few weeks before he was born at 8 degrees Gemini.

On November 30, 2020 around the time when most states have certified their election, there is a Lunar Eclipse at 8 degrees Gemini/Sagittarius.  This is the degree of Trump’s prenatal eclipse.  In addition, the big three, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn are stirring up the pot, opposing Trump’s Venus and Saturn.  Pluto in particular is in very close opposition to Trump’s Saturn.  Saturn is about structure; form and one’s standing in society.  Pluto brings into play the issues of power and control.  Pluto can bring you to great heights and to great depths.

On December 14, 2020 when the Electoral College meets there is a Solar Eclipse at 23 degrees of Sagittarius. This eclipse degree is the degree of the Lunar Eclipse at Trump’s birth.  At this time Pluto has only moved minutes from it’s position a few weeks before.  So not much has changed.

The weeks between the Electoral College vote and the Joint Session of Congress are cosmically busy.  The Winter Solstice, the celestial marker of the new year occurs.  At this solstice the 20-year cycle of Saturn and Jupiter begins anew. For centuries this Jupiter/Saturn conjunction, often referred to as the Great Conjunction or Great Chronocrator, has been a reliable indicator of economic, social, and political trends.  This 20-year cycle is a cycle within a cycle. For approximately 200 years the conjunction between these planets occurs in the same element, Earth, Air, Water or Fire.  When this cycle changes elements it is called the Great Mutation.  For the past 200 years these Great Conjunctions have occurred in the element of Earth.  The Earth emphasis is on the material. Property, the production of goods and physical boundaries.  At the solstice, when they meet again it will be in the Air sign Aquarius. The change of elements from Earth to Air heralds a huge societal shift.  A conjunction is a seed planted.  We may not see what it means when it happens but change is in store.  The element of Air and especially Aquarius places emphasis on the collective, collaborative efforts, ancient wisdom.  Personhood replaces Brotherhood.  Science and abstract ideas float through the atmosphere.  Change in element signifies a change in leadership.  Here we are focused on the Presidential election but this change in leadership extends throughout society.  As our ideals shift so will are choices change as we seek different types of leaders. (keep your eye on 2024)

For Trump, at this Grand Conjunction, Pluto has still not left the building. Pluto is persistent and will continue to knock on your door until you answer.  Here he is knocking on Trump’s Saturn.  Saturn says walk the straight and narrow; conform, follow the rules and obey the law. When Pluto and Saturn are together the path is not easy.

The final reckoning comes when Congress finally meets in Joint Session on the 6th of January 2021. The slower moving planets are still exerting pressure and stress on Trump’s natal planets. Mars, the planet of action, makes a very sweet and positive connection to Trump’s Ascendant.  Mars is a driving force.  Here Mars is at the very last degree, indeed the last minutes of Aries.  While this is a “good” aspect, a planet in the final degree of a sign is considered weak and signifies the end of a cycle.

The session opens at 1PM, Saturn in the sky at that moment is given pride of place.  Sitting high in the sky, posited at home base, the 10th house, Saturn has all the “dignity”.  What this means is Saturn has all the power, the strongest energy exerted.  The Saturn traditions of order, structure and tradition hold sway.  Up there with him is the planet Mercury, in no nonsense Capricorn.  Mercury, in the sign that Saturn rules, is the vote.  This position reinforces the Saturnian principles.  The Moon, ruling the public, is in Libra. Libra is the sign of balance, negotiation and the peacemaker.  In a combative stance with Mercury, Moon in Libra pushes for fairness and justice.

Trump, with his natal Mars on the Ascendant, is a fighter and he will fight to the bitter end.  As Trump is also a man full of surprises, expect some behind the scenes shenanigans in order to influence the outcome.  Nancy Pelosi, an Aries with a Scorpio Moon will have something to say about that.  With the strength of Saturn throughout the proceedings it’s a safe bet that when all is said and done, tradition wins.

A Cosmically Active Week – Ending With a Shocker!

This week we have more impeachment hearings, a Last Quarter Moon, sign and directions changes.  All of the planetary activity signals changes and shifting of energy and attitude.  Expect some bombshells, literally and figuratively.

Tuesday Mars moves into Scorpio.  Here Mars rules and can be Mars without restriction.  Mars is the planet of action and recently that action has been dressed up pretty in Libra.  Mars does not like pretty.  Here Mars is only restrained by the Scorpio desire to dig to the depths before taking action.  When action does come it can be explosive.  Scorpio thrusts Mars precisely into the heart of things cutting to the quick.  Mars in Scorpio is passionate and not just sexually passionate.

The Last Quarter Moon on the same day has the Sun at 27 Scorpio and the Moon at 27 Leo.  That we are going to see some action on the impeachment front is a given.  The Moon sits on Donald Trump’s natal Mars and Ascendant.  These two points in his chart are very important and reveal a lot about his personality.  Mars in Leo here says I am going to fight to the end.  Bring it on I love and thrive on it.  The Sun squares these points. This is not an aspect of ease, bringing action, agitation and difficulties that have to be addressed.  Also Venus at this time sits exactly opposite Trump’s Sun.  Venus rules diplomats and here in opposition signifies exactly that, opposition.  A conflict between the Diplomatic Corp and the President.

Mercury is poised and ready to go direct on Wednesday afternoon, the 20th.  When planets change direction there is usually activity pertaining to the nature of that planet.  Mercury is all about communication, transportation, and information. When Mercury moves from retrograde motion to direct motion, information surfaces, new ideas form and things are viewed differently. Expect a lot of activity around this day, before and after.
On Friday, the Sun moves into exuberant Sagittarius and a very different energy prevails.  Whereas Scorpio is secretive and keeps things close to the vest Sagittarius throws it all out there.  Sagittarius is ready to move.  This sign is also one of high ideals, justice and the deeper meaning to it all.  Judges, the judiciary, foreign and faraway places are all part of the Sagittarius makeup.

On Sunday the 24th Venus joins Jupiter.  This is a lovely aspect and can prove to be very lucky.  In Sagittarius, if you are looking for love and/or money this is the day for it.  Get out there, socialize, meet people and trust to the luck of the day to bring you something wonderful.  But be wary because along with that aspect is the much more dangerous one of Mars opposing Uranus.  This is an explosive lineup.  If anything shocking is going to come out of these impeachment hearings, it will come out now.  This combination surprises, stuns and brings the outrageous to our door.  It is not pretty. This is the bolt out of the blue that leaves us reeling.  Explosive is the key word here. Disaster is another. This energy will be in play for the entire week as Mars moves closer to the opposition point, reaching its peak on Sunday, then slowly waning into next week.  Hang on to your hat.

By the time the New Moon arrives on the 26th we will be facing an entirely different picture.  Attitudes, outlooks, feelings and desires will segue into something fresh and new as we prepare for the holiday season.

That is if we survive the earthquake and aftermath that the weekend will bring

Televised Impeachment Hearings. What Can We Expect?

Another dog and pony show?  Or will something substantive come out of this. A look at the chart for the opening of the hearings on November 13, 2019 at 10AM in Washington, DC may provide some clues.

The first thing that pops out is the Ascendant at 29 degrees Sagittarius 56 minutes.  29 degrees of any sign is a critical degree but here it is very close to the Galactic Center at 27 degrees Sagittarius. The information out there about the Galactic Center, both astronomically and astrologically, fills volumes.  This point is the rotational center of the Milky Way, while Earth, Moon and the planets revolve around the Sun, the Sun revolves around the Galactic Center.  So it is an important point in our universe.  Sagittarius is all about truth and justice, at the Galactic Center the task is to separate the wheat from the chaff. This combination knows no party nor has any loyalty to any individual.

The second point is the Retrograde Mercury in Scorpio.  If you want to do some digging, get at the truth and expose any ugliness in the universe do so while Mercury is in this state. Retrograde Mercury champions revising and reviewing.  Reviewing is basically what these televised hearings are about.  Testimony has been given behind closed doors and the bombshells have been dropped. Now we get to see and hear these folks repeat what they have said.  Maybe some new info will surface.

The aspects throughout the day offer more clues as to what will go down.  Before the opening, Mercury will sextile Saturn.  This is an aspect that favors connections and assistance.  Saturn says let’s get down to business.  Mercury in Scorpio is ready for that.  Just before 1PM the Sun makes the same aspect to Pluto.  Sun rules the head, the leader.  Here it could be the President but it could also indicate who is running the impeachment hearings.  Pluto rules those in power.  There’s powerful forces at work on both sides.  With Mercury in Scorpio and Pluto the ruler of Scorpio involved things are going to get ugly.

The Moon at the open is in Gemini and will remain there throughout until Friday at 11:15 AM.  Moon in Gemini is totally neutral, neither one way nor the other.  Moon in Gemini wants information.  Gemini’s ruler, Mercury in Scorpio is happy to oblige. Throughout the course of these hearings Gemini Moon will roll over Donald Trump’s Gemini Sun, Uranus and North Node.  Thursday night, the Moon will oppose Donald Trump’s natal Moon.  Moon often acts as a trigger setting off what has already been set in motion by the slower moving planets. In this case Saturn/Pluto in Capricorn opposing Trump’s Venus/Saturn, North Node on his Mercury and Jupiter on his Moon and opposing his Sun.  A lot of action hitting his chart over these past months and for some months to come.

Thursday may prove critical, although much may go on behind the scenes.  Around Noon time Venus will square Neptune.  At that moment transiting Moon will be sitting on Donald Trump’s Uranus.  Some shocking news perhaps.  Venus rules women in diplomacy.  Trump’s natal Venus conjunct Saturn can indicate problems with women.

Overall these hearings will be a big review with some new information surfacing.  I would like to say shocking but I think the public has been inured to so much shocking information in recent years that for something to be considered shocking it would have to be really over the top.  But who knows?

New information will surface but the true impact of it will not be felt until Mercury goes direct on November 20, 2019.  In the meantime, hang onto your hat.

Will Trump’s Phone Call to the Ukraine Bring Him Down?

The phone call to Ukrainian President Zelensky began at 9:03 AM on July 25, 2019.  The chart cast for that moment impacts Donald Trump’s chart as well as the July 4, 1776 chart of the United States.

At the time of the phone call Mercury was retrograde in Cancer conjunct Venus in Cancer at 25/26 degrees.  This conjunction was sitting on Donald Trump’s natal conjunction of Venus and Saturn. Now, in November, Mercury is retrograde again, in Scorpio, and it is in a favorable aspect to the phone call Mercury.  More “stuff” is being revealed.  Mercury will go direct on November 20th and will not reach this degree again until the first week in December.  Expect a bombshell around December 6th as more comes out.

The phone call was made when Donald Trump was having a Venus Return, i.e. Venus had swung around the Zodiac and was sitting on his natal Venus.  This is usually a lovely transit.  Venus rules love, money and all the fun and games in life.  We usually feel pretty good about ourselves at a Venus Return.   Perhaps this return made Donald Trump feel confident, or over confident perhaps.  The interesting thing is that Venus also rules women in international diplomacy.  Marie Yovanovitch described some scary events in her testimony to investigators.

Trump’s Saturn/Venus conjunction indicates problems with women.  That does seem to play out in his life.  And the problems come about through women with authority.
The Mercury/Venus conjunction in the phone call chart also impacts the chart of the United States.  The chart of the USA has retrograde Mercury at 24 Cancer.  So, this little conjunction was sitting on our country’s Mercury.  Mercury rules national opinion, news media, the Secretary of State and political meetings.

The phone call was made with Moon conjunct Mr. Surprise, Uranus.  This conjunction squared the USA’s nodal axis.  The nodes are the points in the Zodiac where the Moon crosses the celestial equator going North and South.  Contacts with these points have a “fated” feel to them.  This is bigger than partisan politics.   Trump and his administration are part of a cosmic turn around as the USA heads into it’s first Pluto return in 2022.  Pluto takes 248 years to make a complete circle around the Zodiac.  Pluto eliminates, disintegrates and transforms.  Major sociological upheavals occur when Pluto rolls around.   These are not sudden and unexpected like a Uranus transit; Pluto is slow and inexorable.  With Pluto, the crap gets exposed first.  This will reveal not just Trump and the Republicans but all those in power who abuse that power.

Another player in this game is Alexander Vindman the US Army lieutenant colonel who testified about his concerns about a July 10th meeting as well as the infamous phone call of the 25th.  Vindman is a Gemini, who also has Venus and Saturn in Cancer.  His Venus is conjunct Donald Trump’s Venus, his Mercury is conjunct Trump’s Sun.  They have a rapport.  He “likes” Trump.  Venus contacts attract and bring congeniality and all the social lubricants that make life pleasant.  At the time of the phone call the Moon/Uranus conjunction in the sky was conjunct his natal Moon.  Uranus is the shocker, the bolt out of the blue event that leaves you reeling. With a Taurus Moon, he is loyal, faithful and true.  Something occurred that shook him to his core and prompted him to come forward.  This guy did not do this lightly and it is probably very difficult for him to do this.

The public hearings begin on November 13, 2019 with Moon in Gemini, information, and Mercury in Scorpio still retrograde.  A retrograde Mercury in Scorpio, reexamines, reviews and revises.  In Scorpio, it’s like x-ray vision.  Here Mercury wants to get to the bottom of things.  The Moon represents the public, in Gemini the message is, the people want the information, good, bad or indifferent, there is a need for the facts.

Mercury goes direct on November 20th, expect new information to be revealed and some real action by the first week in December.

Stay tuned

New Moon in Scorpio November 2019

The New Moon plants the seeds that will sprout and flower as the Moon moves from a conjunction with the Sun, the New Moon, to an opposition, the Full Moon.  This New Moon is in Scorpio.  Some belief systems say that the veil is thin between this world and the next during this time of year.  That belief may stem from the Scorpion energy that penetrates and sees through society's polite veneer to the real and raw human emotions beneath.

Uranus in direct opposition to the Sun and Moon at this time promises a most volatile, unstable and unpredictable period.  Violent weather extremes, floods, earthquakes and other natural upheavals disrupt normal living conditions.  This is not a pretty aspect, the possibilities for mayhem are endless, Train wrecks, airplane crashes and demonstrations; any and all things that wreak havoc on the daily routine are possible.

President Trump, with transiting Jupiter conjunct  his Moon and opposing his Sun will be dealing with courts, judges, treaties and international borders.  The political situation will not cool down for him and actions from his own party will take him by surprise.  And he is not adverse to throwing out a few surprises of his own.  He is a very Uranian type of person and easily adapts to sudden upsets.

Emotions run high during this period.  Mercury goes retrograde on the 31st and will remain so until November 20th.  Be sure to dot your i's and cross your t's during this period.  Scrutinize news, documents and adhere to that old saying, "don't believe half of what you hear" etc.

At the Full Moon, retrograde Mercury and the Sun oppose the Moon from the 12th house of secrets.  Expect behind the scenes machinations, covert activities and the kind of things folks like to keep on the down low.  Be wary of false information, lies and distortion.  Check it out, google it, give your friend the benefit of the doubt until you are sure you have the facts.

At the Last Quarter Moon, Mars moves into Scorpio and Mercury goes direct.  November 19-20.  The energy shifts, and things being to move forward.  Mars in Scorpio is at home in Scorpio and very strong.  Mars likes a fight.  As it moves into opposition with volatile Uranus sparks will fly.  The weekend before the next New Moon on November 26th will be explosive and upsetting.  Impulsive actions bring unexpected results.  Mars/Uranus combinations are an accident waiting to happen.  Think before you act.  Look before you leap.  Stay safe.

Inquiry to Impeach - Trump

Yesterday, September 24, 2019 at 5:04 PM Nancy Pelosi announced that the House of Representatives were opening an Inquiry into Impeachment.  A whistle blower complaint about a conversation the President had with the President of the Ukraine was the incident that pushed Nancy Pelosi to take this step.  Prior to this she has been reluctant to pen these proceedings.

At the time of the announcement, Mercury was sitting on top of Trump's natal Jupiter at 17 Libra.  Trump's Jupiter is part of a lucky trine in his chart with his natal Uranus at 17 Gemini.  Transiting Jupiter in Sagittarius opposes Trump's Uranus and is in sextile to his  Jupiter.

There is a lot more planetary action going on that impacts his chart but these are the ones that pop out when giving it all a quick look.   The Mercury (inquiry)  conjunction to his Jupiter (law, courts, Senate)  perfectly symbolizes what is going on.  Venus is in the picture as well.  Jupiter and Venus are referred to as the Greater and Lesser Benefic, which means they are the good guys and bring luck and good fortune to you when they transit your chart.  This would seem to favor Trump in this case.  But Jupiter is the law and elsewhere in Trump's chart he is experiencing a Saturn transit.  While Jupiter represents the law, Saturn demands that you obey that law.  Venus will often bring helpful people into your life here it symbolizes the feminine forces that are aligned against Trump.  Many women oppose Trump and his policies.

Trump's luck may still be in force for a while yet.  The end of October, 30/31 sparks will fly.  January and February 2020 could very will bring a reckoning.

Stay tuned.

The Solar Eclipse, Donald Trump and the Rest of Us.

Tomorrow’s Solar Eclipse at 8 degrees, 12 minutes of Pisces is a real humdinger. This Eclipse has the warrior Mars conjunct the rebel Uranus with both opposing Jupiter; usually considered benevolent but often bringing too much of a good thing.  This combination squares off with Pluto the destroyer and transformer.  Pluto is the “don’t fuck with me” planet.  You can’t win, he’s inexorable, hangs around for a long time, goes back and forth over the same degrees seemingly forever, he’s there until you get it right or discard it and start anew.

Expect wild swings in the stock market and other financial markets.  Also a surprise, covert military operation.  This has an international flavor with treaties, debt owed the nation and immigration boiling up and overflowing. Strong reactions on all sides confuse the issues.  Monday will start off with a bang. The shock waves will continue throughout the week with Thursday being an especially volatile day.  Saturday Venus begins her retrograde period another factor that will have an impact on the markets. The aspects in the chart of the Eclipse create an anything goes atmosphere.  In addition to the unexpected in the financial and political world the natural world also holds a few surprises.  Uranus in this chart, in combination with Mars, Jupiter and Pluto speaks to explosive events, whether it’s an earthquake, volcano or a shocking headline.

The Putin/Trump/election business will continue to unfold.  And with Jupiter retrograding back to his natal Jupiter he will continue to blow it off as disgruntled Democrats. But Saturn is waiting in the wings.  At present President Trump’s supporters continue to believe and support him despite the obvious and repeated falsehoods.  This summer will be a hot one for him. Some of the allure he holds over folks will begin to unravel.  Cracks will begin to appear in July and August as Saturn hits his Sun and Moon.  By this time next year when Saturn opposes his talker, Mercury, President Trump will be facing some hard truths.

In the meantime, President Trump will continue to try and control the media. Unlike Russia, where Vladimir Putin has the media in his pocket, here in the United States our Constitution guarantees freedom of the press.  President Trump and his advisors are acutely aware of the power of the media and the importance of controlling the flow of information.  President Trump’s continued battle with the media is an attempt at control.  His speeches and tweets about fake news, dishonest news, failing news are part of his efforts to undermine confidence in the media.  Which isn’t hard to do given that it is corporate media and honest news without a particular slant is hard to find.  But there are some good, honest, hardworking investigative journalists out there and they will continue digging and reporting.

For the rest of us: Don’t try to rush into things without thinking them through.  Romance may hold disappointments if we are not seeing the other as they really are.  Take off the rose colored glasses and face the reality of the situation.  With Venus retrograding in Aries, love and money can be misplaced.  Mars in Aries wants to rush headlong into whatever strikes the eye, whether it is a love relationship, a money deal or a safari through the Amazon, with no thought to the consequences.  This Eclipse in Pisces nudges us toward the spiritual.  Drop the ego, get beyond the self and get into universal love, caring and giving.  Take the high road.

Trump and Putin – What’s the Connection?

With all the news stories floating around about Russian hacking into Democratic and Republican National Committee’s emails with an eye to influencing the election in Donald Trump’s favor a look at the horoscopes of Putin and Trump and how they interact with one another has been revealing.

Vladimir Putin is a quadruple Libra with Sun, Mercury, Saturn and Neptune in that sign. While Libra is a social sign, the people who need people sign it is often called the iron hand in a velvet glove.  This would seem to fit Putin to a tea.  He spent 16 years in the KGB rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel before becoming Prime Minister, then President of Russia.

When you place Putin’s planets around the outside of Donald Trump’s horoscope you see where his planet’s connect to Donald Trump’s planets. In astrology this type of comparison is called synastry. Synastry can reveal how folks interact with one another, the attractions and the points of friction between people.

There’s an ease of communication between these two. Trump’s Sun and Moon connect favorably with Putin’s Mercury, while Putin’s Venus returns the favor by smiling sweetly at Trump’s Mercury.

But there are issues of power and control here.  Pluto the chief architect of power and control plays a big role in this chart comparison.  Putin’s Pluto in Leo sits on Trump’s 12th house Mars and is close to Trump’s ascendant. As explained in previous postings, the ascendant is an important component in the horoscope. The 12th house is the house of secrets and behind the scenes stuff.  This power broker belonging to Putin sits on Trump’s Mars, how he uses his energy, his action planet. So yes, Putin wants to control Trumps movements.

Another control freak, Saturn is in the picture as well.  In Putin’s chart Saturn sits at 17 degrees, 27 minutes of Libra exact to the minute of Trump’s Jupiter in Libra. Saturn is all about restriction and confinement.  And once again control.

In terms of the power of the planets, Pluto trumps Mars and Saturn trumps Jupiter. Another words, Putin’s got the power. No pun intended.

These planets pull in Trump’s all important Sun/Uranus opposite Moon combination that motivate and activate him.

The picture painted here is Vladimir Putin, behind the scenes pulling the strings. He definitely wants to control Donald Trump. Whether or not Trump is/was aware of these behind the scenes machinations will become apparent as transiting Saturn, in the sky right now, moves into position to kick off Trump’s inner dynamic as well as the dynamic between Trump and Putin.

Saturn is the planet of pay back and he’s been waiting in the wings.  If Trump makes it to the inauguration his first 100 days will not go as he planned.  As the Eclipses of January and February occur more damaging information will come out.  If he survives politically the August Eclipses should finish the job.

Donald Trump – Howling at the Moon

It’s hard to predict anything about Donald Trump because he is the essence of unpredictability due to his Sun and Uranus conjunct in Gemini.  In astrology the Sun is the core self, the heart and soul of the personality.  Uranus is the planet of the unexpected and at times shocking events.  These energies are connected in his chart and as such are a big piece of his personality.

Donald Trump is a Full Moon baby, with his Moon in Sagittarius opposing his Sun and Uranus.  While the Sun reflects the outer personality, the Moon is the inner, the emotional component.  A Gemini Sun is always restless, curious and easily bored.  A Sagittarius Moon is also a bit restless and always looking for adventure.  Staid is not a word you would apply to Donald Trump

The upcoming Full Moon on December 13, 2016 falls on his Sun/Moon opposition. In this case the transiting Sun in Sagittarius is on his Moon and the transiting Moon is on his Sun. The energies of this Full Moon will touch his core setting off who knows what. With the Moon ruling the emotions sitting on his Sun/Uranus conjunction the unpredictable and unexpected that is Trump’s signature will be set off. Get ready to hear him howl.

Another big piece of Trump’s personality is his Ascendant, the sign on the horizon at the moment of birth. Trump has Leo rising and Mars in Leo close to his Ascendant degree.  The Ascendant is how the world sees you and is a huge part of your personality.  Leo is the show biz sign and the show must go on at all costs.  Mars is the warrior, the athlete and in a horoscope it is how you use your energy.  On the Ascendant Mars is strong and active, just the way Mars likes to be. Trump reflects this aspect in his often combative, argumentative stances.  He’s going to fight back, whether he needs to or not. This piece of his horoscope also contributes to his tendency to exaggerate and spin things in a way that puts him at the center of the action. Leo is the show biz sign after all and even though Trump lost the popular vote by a wide margin, the show must go on and he will act and behave as if he won by a landslide. This is simply how he rolls.

During the week following the Full Moon Mars in Aquarius will oppose his Mars in Leo and then oppose his Ascendant and move into his 7th house of partners and open enemies.  Mars will then move into Pisces. All this action will occur from the 14th through the 19th

Mars in Pisces can signify a spiritual warrior or one on a holy crusade when taking the high road.  When not on that high road deception, illusion and delusion can take place.  This is a position of smoke and mirrors and one cannot always be aware of what is really happening.

Donald Trump will face opposition but at this time it might not be clear who is enemies really are.  For sure the Clintonistas will oppose any and all of his actions but with Mars in Pisces here it won’t really be clear who is enemies are.  This could mean that those in his own party will be working to undermine him.  It’s no secret that many Republicans did not support him.  And he continues to make statements that the rank and file do not agree with.

To further confuse the issue, as this is all taking place, Mercury turns retrograde on December 19, 2016 at 15 degrees Capricorn.  It will move backwards and oppose his natal Mercury on December 27 2016.  In the horoscope, Mercury rules how you communicate and process information.  Trump’s Mercury is in Cancer.  His communication has a strong connection to his emotions.  He says what he feels at the moment.  In general Mercury has to do with communication, ideas, information processing and all forms of transportation and voting.   A Mercury retrograde period is a time for revising and reviewing.  Also a time of fake outs, false information, and misinformation.  Mercury does not go direct until January 8, 2017.

The day that Mercury goes retrograde is the day that the Electors meet in their respective states to record their votes.  On the 6th of January, Congress meets in joint session to count those votes.

When Congress meets in joint session to count the electoral votes there will be a cluster of planets moving through Donald Trump’s 7th house. Remember, this is the house of open enemies. They are Moon, Venus, Mars and Neptune, this is a lot of energy concentrated in one area of the horoscope, one slice of a person’s life.  As these planets enter his 7th house throughout the month of December he’ll face continued opposition.  With all these planets in the sign of Pisces things may not be what they appear to be.  While the concentration of energy in Pisces can bring out the Mother Theresa in us all most often folks fall way short of sainthood. The down side can be deception, illusion and delusion. The big danger here is putting on the rose-colored glasses, seeing things as they want them to be, not how they really are.  High ideals also come into play here.  Ideals are wonderful concepts but it takes the practical and the material to get there.

With all this energy activating Donald Trump’s chart we can expect continued drama around him.  With Leo on the ascendant, Trump loves the drama.  But he may not love it so much when it involves the Electoral College. We are in uncharted waters here for in the sky the planet Uranus, the unexpected, opposes Jupiter, legal stuff.  This opposition connects with Donald Trump’s Sun/Uranus opposition to his Moon and pulls in his natal Jupiter as well.  That’s a lot of action and energy. Expect some controversy or issue involving the Electoral College.  It could simply mean protests. With Uranus in the picture, anything goes.

Win, lose or draw the upcoming year for Donald Trump will prove to be a rocky road as the planetary transits to his natal chart bring a time of testing, stress, opposition and unease.  The restrictions placed upon him by the very nature of the office he holds will not sit well with him.  There has been a lot of speculation concerning his tenure as President.  One thing is for sure, he will not do what is expected of him. He will shock friend and foe alike.

Trump and Harry Truman's Glamorous Prison

Donald Trump with a tenth house Sun/Uranus conjunction in Gemini opposing his Moon in Sagittarius, in a lucky trine to Jupiter in the second house of money was born to shake things up.  Mars in Leo conjunct his Ascendant gives him the drive and incentive to do that. That prominent Mars also gives him a combative nature and the love of being first.  Restless and easily bored he requires intellectual stimulation and needs to take action. He’s impulsive and often does not think things through.  With Mercury, his talker, in Cancer, he says what he is feeling at the moment.

For the past few years Trump has been riding the benevolent wave of Jupiter passing over his Leo Ascendant, moving through Virgo and his first house and now, into Libra and his second house of money and values.  Here it will connect with his natal Jupiter kicking off that lovely trine between his Jupiter and Sun/Uranus/Moon combination. This is a Jupiter return which occurs every 12 years.  Due to the retrograde motion of Jupiter, Trump will get three exact hits from transiting Jupiter to his natal Jupiter.  The dates are December 4, 2016, April 13, 2017 and August 4, 2017.  Jupiter brings all the goodies to the party. It is a period of expansion and brings new people, ideas and philosophies into your life.

The day before his first Jupiter return, mean old Saturn moves into play opposing his Gemini Uranus. Opposition is a perfect word for the combination of these two energies.  Saturn speaks to restriction, conformity, tradition whereas Uranus will have no truck with tradition, refuses to conform and will struggle against any restriction imposed upon it.  This will be a harsh dose of reality for Trump as he begins to realize how confined and restricted his life will be for the next four years.  On December 30, 2016 Saturn will make the first of three conjunctions with his natal Moon and on January 14, 2017 the first of three oppositions to his natal Sun.  Throughout 2017 Trump will be dealing with these opposing energies.  Jupiter wants expansion, Saturn wants restriction.  Uranus wants to kick down the walls and start something new and completely different.

Trump is a money maker and risk taker.  He pushes the envelope and will not easily adjust to any restrictions placed upon him.  He may find that tweeting in the small hours will be the only outlet to vent his frustrations.  Much has been made of the first one hundred days of his presidency. Expect something explosive and shocking by the end of January.  We don’t need a crystal ball to know that health care insurance is on the agenda but by his very nature Trump will deliver an unexpected monkey wrench into the Republican agenda.  He is not going to conform. He will surprise his supporters as well as his enemies.  The planet Uranus is involved in his chart and in the sky. Uranus delivers the unthinkable.  Hang onto your hat as this roller coaster President begins his ride.

Campaign Madness – 2016

While major media outlets would have you think that the presidential nomination process is in the bag for Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton; the primary season is far from over.  With a couple of thousand delegates on the Democratic side and over a thousand on the Republic side the race, though close, is ongoing.

Between now and June when the primary season ends there is a planetary alignment taking place that will have an impact on the candidate’s prospects. There is a mutable T-Square unfolding between now and June involving Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune.  A T-Square is an aspect of stress involving two planets opposing each other and both being squared by another.  In this case Jupiter in Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces while Saturn in Sagittarius squares them both.  The signs involved are all mutable signs.  Mutable signs are changeable signs.  If this T-Square was across the fixed signs we could expect folks to dig their heels in and not budge from their positions. But with the mutable signs involved change is in the air.

Another planetary action of significance to this race is Mars’ period of retrograde motion.  Unlike Mercury the planet that goes retrograde a couple of times a year, Mars goes retrograde every two years.  This year Mars turns retrograde on April 17th in Sagittarius.  It then proceeds to retrograde back into Scorpio on May 27th then goes direct again on June 29th at 23 Scorpio.  Mars is the planet of action providing the impetus that gets us moving.  Retrograde it can slow a person’s momentum and bring a reassessment of what action to take.

The final point to consider is Mercury’s retrograde period beginning on April 28th and ending on May 22nd. This Mercury retrograde period overlaps with the Mars retrograde period and with Mercury in Taurus the Taurus/Scorpio axis so much in play already receives another shot in the arm.

The mutable T-Square impacts Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders in particular.  Bernie Sanders, a Virgo has Jupiter traveling back and forth over his natal Virgo Sun during this period.  This is good for him and will provide a welcome boost to his campaign.  That is not to say it will be easy for him for Saturn in Sagittarius squares his Virgo Sun signifying an uphill battle.  But battle he will, with Scorpio Rising he’s got the stick to it energy required for the fight.

Donald Trump is a Gemini with Moon in Sagittarius opposing his Gemini Sun. The planet Saturn is approaching that Sun/Moon opposition and Jupiter will square the pair. So this mutable T-Square in effect through June gets up close and personal with him as well.  He too faces a battle with the established powers.  Trump, with a Leo Ascendant, the sign on the horizon at his birth, with the planet Mars on that Ascendant is pugnacious, in your face and very much in his element when the battle lines are drawn.

The retrograde Mars period will impact the campaign tactics and activities of the candidates.  Mars is the ruler of Hillary Clinton’s Scorpio Sun and Bernie Sanders’ Scorpio Ascendant. Donald Trump with Mars sitting on his Ascendant in Leo is tuned into Mars in a big way.  Capricorn Ted Cruz with Mars, Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio will not get away clean either.

For Ted Cruz, Mars goes retrograde in his third house and moves back into his second rolling back and forth over his Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Sagittarius.  This signals a change in his message and finances. Natal Jupiter hit with the Mars energy may bring big donors to his door.

Donald Trump will face increased opposition from the powers that be as Mars squares his Mars twice going backwards then forwards.  It has already squared his Mars once and that energy has manifested in his combativeness, the violence at his rally’s and Republican establishment coming out against him. They will continue to come after him and he will continue to react. A mutable, changeable Gemini, Donald Trump is able to roll with the punches but with a Leo ascendant with Mars backing up that ascendant, he’s not going away.

Scorpio Hillary Clinton, with Mars moving from her fifth house to her sixth and back again will take a gamble and toss the dice at some point.  There is danger here of over confidence and that will become apparent when she faces opposition from the collective.  Youth and women play big roles in this campaign and for Hillary Clinton in particular.

Its ‘put your dukes up time” for Virgo Bernie Sanders as Mars moves back and forth over his Ascendant moving from the first to the 12th and back again.  During that time those that oppose him will be working behind the scenes. But when Mars hits his Ascendant for the last time in July just prior to the convention, he will come out swinging.  The Mars retrograde period will prove beneficial to him.  With a strong natal retrograde Mars in Aries, the retrograde periods of Mars resonate with him and will not slow his momentum.

John Kasich, also with natal Mars retrograde in Scorpio; though lagging behind will not give up easily. A Taurus Sun, with Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in that sign as well, he’s no quitter. Mars opposes his Sun for the last time just prior to the convention.  He may still be in it because he carries the conviction that he is the best qualified. Whether that is so may not matter in the hurdy-gurdy atmosphere of this campaign.

Mercury begins retrograde motion on April 28th at 23 Taurus and will move backwards until it reaches 14 Taurus on May 22nd.  It will not reach 23 Taurus again until June 7th a significant date in the primary cycle.  The primary in California on that day, with 548 delegates at stake could prove to be a deal maker or breaker.

Ted Cruz will have Mercury moving through his 8th house of financial support from others will get some action there as it moves over his Saturn in Taurus and activates by opposition his Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio in the 2nd house of his money.  With Saturn involved it is a good guess that he will receive financial support from the establishment.  With his natal Mercury retrograde in Capricorn retrograde periods are smooth sailing for him.

For Bernie Sanders Mercury retrograde in Taurus creates a helpful trine to his Virgo Sun and North Node.  While moving through his sixth house of every day routine the retrograde period will be a time of reviewing strategy and revamping schedule.

Mercury goes retrograde just shy of Donald Trump’s Midheaven.  The Midheaven is the most elevated point in a horoscope.  This point relates to the individual’s public image, what they aspire to and the ideals they hold.  As Mercury backtracks through the 9th house of publishing there’s a chance that the media’s love affair with Trump may ebb a bit.  Mercury will not hit the very important Midheaven until well after moving direct not reaching it until June 8th at the end of the primary period.  This will be a significant time for Donald Trump.

In one of those astrological coincidences, John Kasich’s Sun sits at 24 Taurus conjunct the Donald’s Midheaven.  Retrograde Mercury will roll back and forth between Kasich’s Sun and Venus in Taurus.  The reassessment and reevaluation that Mercury retrograde periods are so famous for will be very up close and personal for Kasich.  Taurus has lots of perseverance but they are pragmatic and practical as well.  John Kasich will take a hard look at the facts.

Scorpio Hillary Clinton has natal Mercury retrograde in that sign. This Mercury retrograde period will oppose her Mercury and Venus in Scorpio. First in forward motion, then retrograde then forward again.  As Mercury moves through her 11th house of networking, with Gemini rising, she’ll be working that network gathering support.  Once again, 24 Taurus occurs with Hillary’s North Node at that degree.

This election season plays out against the backdrop of the planetary configurations of the slower moving planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.  When any or all of them are engaged societal changes occur.  The proof of this is in the continued success of the “outsiders” in each party, Trump and Sanders.  And as much as the establishment would like them to go away, they are both here to stay.

Both conventions will be a slugfest. With so many planetary wild cards in play it is difficult to predict a winner.  What is for sure is the uniqueness of this campaign season which will continue to be unusual and full of unexpected surprises.  As the mutable T-Square unfolds the changing political landscape will at times slide into the muck and become more absurd and bizarre.  For sure, the unheard voices outside the mainstream will make their presence felt.

Donald Trump - The Greatest Show on Earth

Since announcing his run for President of the United States Donald Trump has been dominating the headlines and leading the Republican pack. His incendiary comments have offended minorities, majorities, genders, and any and all special groups from veterans to vegetarians. How does he do it? Donald Trump’s over the top, exaggerated style and look are clearly reflected in his natal horoscope. Trump is a Gemini with a Sagittarius Moon and a Leo Ascendant. He’s a Full Moon baby born hours before a Lunar Eclipse. With his Gemini Sun in the very public 10th house and his Leo Mars conjunct his Ascendant it is no wonder that he loves the spotlight and actually thrives there. That Mars so close to the Ascendant manifests in that combative style that keeps him in the headlines. That combination also amps up his love for the spotlight. It is also a text book case for that bulldog look and belligerent stance. His 2nd house of money has Neptune and Jupiter. Neptune brings vision but can also denote the disappearing dollar. Trump has done the bankruptcy thing a few times but I am thinking it was more as a strategic business move. Jupiter brings “lots of” to the area of life where the planet resides. Trump’s Jupiter is in a sweet, lucky trine aspect with inventive, innovative Uranus in his 10th house of career. Uranus in Gemini conjunct his Gemini Sun and opposite his Sagittarius Moon in the 4th house of home and Real Estate provides a template for success in that field. With a Leo Ascendant and a Sagittarius Moon Donald Trump is enthusiastic, optimistic and exuberant. Failure is not part of his vocabulary and his ego is huge. The Gemini Sun makes him curious, restless and easily bored. He’s always looking for something new. With Uranus in that picture that something new is really new. In his 11th house, money earned from career as well as friends and plans for the future, Trump has Mercury in Cancer and a conjunction between Venus and Saturn in Cancer. The ruler of all this Cancer energy is the Moon. His Moon is quite at home in the 4th house. Moon is what you need, Venus is what you want. A critical motivator for Trump is security. With Mercury in Cancer he says what he feels. So how does he do it? How does he grab the headlines and maintain the lead while offending most of those within hearing distance? The combination of his basic natal style and the position of the transiting planets holds the key. The two benefic planets of the Zodiac, Jupiter and Venus have been running hand in hand for the last few months, in Leo, a sign that is key to Trump’s personality and success. When he announced his plan to run transiting Venus was sitting on top of his natal Pluto in Leo in the 12th house. Transiting Jupiter, also in Leo was closing in on his natal Mars and Leo Ascendant. Venus attracts lovely things when she connects with natal planets and points in the horoscope. Jupiter expansive and grand insures that whatever he brings there is lots of it. Venus moved through Leo, entered Virgo, then went retrograde and is currently retracing her steps back into Leo over Trump’s ascendant and his Mars in Leo. This past week during the time of the first debate Venus and Jupiter were together in the sky hanging out with Trump’s Mars and Ascendant. You can’t get any luckier combination than that. Add to this luckiest of the lucky combo, Mercury, the planet of communication at those same degrees, insures that his voice will be heard. With this energy surrounding him he can’t help but steal the show. Retrograde Venus moves back to 14 Leo before going direct on September 6th. She will then bring her attracting energy back over Trump’s Mars and Ascendant during late September and early October. During Venus retrograde periods reassessing and reevaluating takes place in the areas of life that Venus rules, money, love, relationships and social intercourse. Our attitude changes and events move forward after she moves into direct motion. Will Trump’s shining star diminish when Venus revisits those critical points in Trump’s chart? I don’t think so. With lucky Jupiter moving through his first house until September 2016 his Mojo will still be working for a while. Mars moving through Leo and Virgo from August 8th until November 12th fires him up while setting off the energies of Venus and Jupiter while they travel through critical areas of Trump’s natal chart. During September Trump has a Mars return that is, Mars in the sky returns to the point where it was at his birth. This is an event that happens approximately every two years and is an indicator of how one will use one’s energy over the next couple of years until the next return. Mars brings energy, ambition and strength of will and is doubly important for Trump since his natal Mars plays such a critical role in his personality. What is striking is at this return, Venus, that little lover and bringer of goodies is at the exact midpoint of his magical Jupiter/Uranus trine. Love him or hate him, he’s not going away. While it may be hard to believe that the traveling show of Donald Trump will be the next President of the United States his natal horoscope indicates that anything goes with this guy. He’s mercurial, changeable and capable of pulling a rabbit out of the hat. He’s definitely going to shake up the establishment. He’s authentic and not the pre-packaged product that passes for political candidates these days. With natal Uranus conjunct his Sun and opposing his Moon his actions are unpredictable. The action and energy from transiting planets hitting his natal planets over the next year feed his unpredictable nature. If you think his actions are bizarre now, hang on tight as the roller coaster continues.
