Mercury Snuggles Up With Venus - Exchanging Secrets - October 30, 2019

My morning routine consists of a cup of coffee and a look at the chart for the day.  The timing of this chart varies, depending on when I get up and when I open my astrology software and click "now". This morning I noticed two little tidbits that will have some impact on our daily routine and perhaps beyond. 

Mercury, stationed, (stopped in the sky), preparing to turn retrograde becomes exactly aligned with Venus. The blended energies of Mercury and Venus usually means pleasant conversation, harmony and agreement.  Venus is the social planet, with Mercury, conversation is the key.  But in this particular instance both planets are in Scorpio.  Conversations are going to be deep and penetrating.   This is not idle cocktail party chit chat.  Scorpio digs to the bottom of things.  No one gets off easy here.

Tomorrow Mercury begins retrograde motion until November 20th.  Retrograde periods are a time for reevaluation, review,  recycle all that re stuff.   Scorpio energy provides a platform for deep introspection.  Secrets are revealed, although this may not become apparent until after the 20th.

Venus is the planet of love and money,  Mercury rules all kinds of communication from the text to the text book.  Mercury also rules transactions and transportation.   With Venus, transactions involving money. 

Scorpio rules sex, death, taxes, and interest rates.   With Mercury poised to go retrograde it is best to scrutinize all legal and financial documents.  And while Venus is usually very sweet and pretty, in Scorpio she is not at home and very uncomfortable.  Venus' usual diplomatic strengths are blunted here. 

Relationships do play a big role here and conversations within relationship during these two days will be very important.  Try to avoid being sharp tongued and keep in mind how much words can hurt. The Scorpio sting is usually the result of a deep hurt.   Yes, Scorpio is sensitive, although they will never let you know it.

The Astrology of Kavanaugh’s confirmation

On October 6, 2018 the roll call vote began for the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court at 3:44 PM.

At that time Jupiter ruler of law and judges was at the most prominent point in sky conjunct the midheaven, which means it was directly overhead in Washington, DC.

Women and their issues were prominent as well.  Venus, in Scorpio, had turned retrograde the day before and was in a difficult aspect with Mars in Aquarius, on the Ascendant, another important point in the horoscope.  Venus and Mars, women and men, in an aspect of conflict accurately reflects the prevailing sentiments during this time.

Ceres, the dwarf planet, sat nice and cozy with the Sun in Libra.  Libra is all about justice.  Ceres, the Roman Demeter, is the Goddess of grains and agriculture.  She represents outraged motherhood.  Heartbroken and incensed when her daughter was abducted by Hades (Pluto) (rape), she halted the seasons, leaving a barren world until her daughter was returned to her. They are both posited in Pluto’s house, the 8^th, along with the Moon in Virgo. Women, sex, power and control, it’s all there.

The themes of women, violation, anger, and justice are prominent throughout. Venus, retrograde in Scorpio, promises more to come.  She will retrograde back into Libra, turn direct on November 16^th and reach the point in Scorpio where she is now, again on December 17^th.  These are significant dates and the news and tweets will reflect the themes prevalent now. 

This Venus is not a gal to mess with. In Scorpio, she feels the hurts deeply, she will not forget, and yes, she will get even. No matter how long it takes. 

This entire episode has brought out more of the ugly, undercurrent in our society.  Women have been silent about any abuse they have suffered.  As more women come forward we will begin to see that this type of bad behavior is more common than previously thought.

Some politicians may rue the day women got the vote!

Sky Talk for the Week of November 29, 2015

The Saturn/Neptune square that was exact on Thanksgiving Day continues to influence. They will be in range of one another throughout 2016.  On Sunday the Sun shines bright beams on the two of them further enhancing their energies.  It’s like a war between illusion and reality.  Unfortunately we are witness to the actions of many a deluded soul out there.  On a personal level this energy can bring those people and ideas that we hold up as high ideals crashing down.  Flaws in character can be revealed and it comes as a shocker to find that some folks are just plain folks; a mixture of the positive and the negative.  As tough as that may be it is much better to deal with a real person not what you think that person is.

Tuesday morning expect an upsetting commute when Mercury makes nice, nice with Uranus.  We can also expect some shocking news or shocking words from unexpected quarters.  Mercury rules transportation in all forms and Uranus rules the shocking, bolt out of the blue.  Be careful out there and try to avoid impulsive speech and action.

On Thursday in the wee hours of the morning the Last Quarter Moon occurs.  This Quarter Moon is in Virgo.  The Moon is waning. When the Moon is on the wane the energy is good for getting rid of something or something you want to reduce. Waning Moon in Virgo is the optimal time to start a diet to lose weight. It is great for breaking any habit that is detrimental to your health, like smoking.   Moon enters Virgo on Wednesday morning at 5:09 AM and goes void of course on Thursday at 11:59 PM, which means it does not make any aspects until entering Libra on Friday at 5:34 PM.  Best not to start anything when Moon is void of course.

On Friday morning December 4^th Mercury is at it again, this time squaring off with Jupiter.  Mercury and Jupiter are in Mutual Reception.  This means that they are in each other’s ruling sign.  Mercury is in Sagittarius and Jupiter is in Virgo. They help each other out.   Mercury in Sagittarius often has foot in mouth disease. People say things without thinking about it at all just blurting out whatever comes to mind.  Jupiter is the king of excess.  Be wary of people who promise more than be delivered and try not to be one of those yourself.  Another possibility with this aspect is big news blown way out of proportion to the actual facts.  Wait before passing judgement. 

Late Friday night Venus leaves Libra and enters Scorpio.  This is a whole new ball game for Venus. In Libra she’s all sweetness and light.  In Scorpio she takes off the velvet gloves and goes bare knuckled.  Lots of passion here as well as suspicion. Make sure your suspicions are well grounded before Mercury in Sagittarius shoots his mouth off.

The Solar Eclipse and the Aftermath

The Solar Eclipse of October 23, 2014 occurred at 0 degrees, 24 minutes of Scorpio.  Venus at the Eclipse moment was at 0 degrees 3 minutes of Scorpio.  This is a tight conjunction and fuses the energies of the Sun, Moon and Venus.  Eclipses always bring changes and those changes usually occur in the area of life that is hit by the Eclipse in the individual’s horoscope.  But this particular Eclipse because of the proximity of Venus places the emphasis on relationships.  With Mercury retrograde at Eclipse time, poised to turn direct the implication is revise, review and examine your relationships.  The Scorpio emphasis promises complexity. Stuff people have been putting up with for awhile is no longer tolerable. Those annoying habits, modes of speech, and inconsiderate actions that have been overlooked now stick in the craw of the significant other.  It may be some time before things are sorted out.  Some relationships may fall by the wayside.

Mercury changing direction on Saturday, October 25, 2014 and Mars moving into Capricorn on Sunday, the 26^th shifts the energy.  Mars in Capricorn likes to get things done.  Mars here is not dreamy or ethereal; here he deals in concrete reality. On Monday the 27^th, Venus cozying up to Neptune may try to put the stars back into your eyes but this is only temporary.  Venus and Neptune are about soul mates, soul bonding and seeing things through rose colored glasses.  That soul mate may be a soul stealer so beware.

All Saints Day, November 1^st may prove to be a day of revelation as Mercury, now direct, connects with Jupiter, Venus connects with Pluto and Mars with Neptune. That is a lot of action and a lot of different types of energy.  Mercury and Jupiter bring big talk, exaggeration and yes, loud voices.  Venus with Pluto can be passionate but also raises the issue of power and control. Who’s controlling who? This aspect is also about obsession.  Mars in practical Capricorn busts the bubble of otherworldly Neptune in Pisces.

At the Full Moon on November 6^th there is still time for some even handed discussion, a time to clear the air.  Do so before Saturday the 8^th when Mercury moves back into Scorpio taking the gloves off and ready for some hard truths. Sunday Venus in Scorpio squares off with Jupiter in Leo.  Venus, relationships and money, digs deep in Scorpio and brings up lots of muck. Jupiter enlarges all the issues.  These two are considered benefic but Scorpio is never easy.

On Monday the 10^th of November things get aggressive and argumentative when Mars and Pluto join forces. Both in Capricorn, there’s a no nonsense attitude and issues of power and control surface. There is great potential for violence here.  Avoiding those folks who are prone to violence is a good idea.  On the 11^th Mercury and Neptune throw clarity out the window and perhaps the truth. 

On Wednesday Venus and Saturn bring stability to relationships but put a cramp in the budget.  Debt, market fluctuations and relationships get complicated. There’s nothing easy. Mars and Uranus mix it up so there is no use in trying to conform to the schedule.  Anything goes. Another period of mishaps and sudden, explosive events, traffic, aviation and earth changes all come to mind.

At the Last Quarter Moon some ugly stuff begins to surface.  All that has happened since the New Moon Solar Eclipse needs to be assimilated.  Clarity and an easing of intensity become possible on Sunday when Neptune in Pisces changes direction and Venus leaves intense Scorpio and move into freewheeling Sagittarius.

Use this time until the New Moon on the 22^nd to meditate, contemplate and digest all the knowledge, insight and enhanced intuition the Solar Eclipse has brought you. The Scorpio Eclipse is all about transformation.  Relationships may not have to end but in order to survive they must change.  This includes your relationship to yourself.  Think about it. 

Venus in Scorpio

Venus enters Scorpio today, November 7, 2009 at 7:23PM where she will remain until December 1st when she moves into Sagittarius. Venus rules love, romance, marriage and all kinds of alliances. She also rules money, the arts , culture, diplomacy, adultery and temptation. Scorpio has dominion over sex, death, taxes, debt, and interest rates. Scorpio’s rulership over sex is often misunderstood. Scorpio has this deep rooted awareness that through the act of sex we create life and as such there is a need to merge with another on a soul level. If you have Venus in Scorpio in your natal chart, emotions run high, and you are intensely passionate. You can also be manipulative. This passion comes from the Scorpionic need to merge, create life and to have a real, life changing experience. Venus in Scorpio on a mundane level indicates that diplomatic relations will take on the Scorpion sting. International monetary policy will be under discussion. Diplomatic negotiations are behind the scenes and the real deals won’t be made by the official diplomats.
For Aries, money comes through a spouse or partner, a loan comes through and arguments over money around the 19th give or take a few days. Taurus has the opportunity to improve all personal relationships, even with competitors and adversaries. Love is in the air, Taurus, and you express affection and experience emotional closeness. Gemini may want to go out and have fun but duty calls. Problems within relationships need to be discussed. Work and professional matters run smooth. For Cancer, it is true love time. This is the time for fun, good times and all sorts of amusements. Leo wants to stay home and redecorate. Parties in the home and relationships with parents improve now. Leo needs to remember to be assertive not aggressive, especially around the 19th. Virgo’s social life picks up now and your everyday activities become pleasant, sociable and quite lovely. Libra wants to be extravagant but needs to really think before spending the cash. Venus in your cash box attracts money as well as the desire for rich and costly goods. Try and hang on to it. Scorpio, with Venus in your 1st house of physical self, experiences a period of peace, love and willingness to compromise. Venus attracts and you will attract people and good times during this period. When it comes to love, Sagittarius finds that giving and caring for a loved one brings great rewards. Not materially but spiritually, just don’t become a martyr and a doormat. Capricorn feels friendly, wants to meet, greet and get out with a crowd. Love affairs begun now begin as friendship then blossom. Aquarius attracts people and circumstances that improve career and public standing. Your professional life runs smoothly and you may develop an interest in the artistic or enhance an existing interest or talent. This is a good time for Pisces to take a trip, visit a museum or art gallery. Something that broadens your consciousness will contribute to your personal growth.
Venus in Scorpio has a lot to do with money and it will be interesting to watch the stock market, copper prices and interest rates while she travels through Scorpio. There should also be a lot of talk about taxes, like we need more taxes and insurance rates. It’s is interesting as well that before the House of Representative right now is the issue of funding abortions in any public health care options. There you go, Venus in Scorpio, sex and death.
