Cheating husbands, Lame Apologies and The Bullshit Excuse, "Men Are Like That".

Friday Tiger Woods publically apologized for his low down cheating ways. The Providence Journal published a piece about the differences in the reaction to this apology based on gender. Guys think it is no big deal that he cheated, after all, guys cheat, they need to have sex with different women, and it’s the nature of the beast and other such nonsense. (Way to go, Tiger) That is a cop out and an excuse for bad behavior. But that is the prevailing attitude, among men, whether it is Tiger Woods, John Edwards, Clinton, Sanford or Spitzer. That’s the way guys are, so let’s just move on. No. Married and/or men in a committed relationship who can’t keep it in their pants are self centered, self serving and into instant gratification. You can’t brush it off as, “oh that’s the way guys are” not when it is a betrayal of trust. What is Tiger Woods going to say to his child, his daughter, when that child is twenty and asks him about all of this? “Guys are like that and you can expect your husband to do the same." That is when his true punishment will begin; little girls marry men just like their daddies. Thank God we were not subjected to his long-suffering wife by his side. And women the world over cheered and jumped for joy at the sight of Jennifer Sanford moving out of the South Carolina State House. Way to go Jenny!
