We're still in the Last Quarter phase of the Moon/Sun cycle. And we are poised to enter the Fall Season which begins officially in the wee hours of Monday morning.
The Moon this Sunday, September 22, 2019 entered Cancer just after midnight as Saturday rolled over into Sunday. Cancer is the home sign of the Moon. Cancer and the Moon rule the emotions. So we can expect folks to be moody and at times crabby. During the day today Mercury, the news and information guy squares of with Saturn the planet known as the Greater Malefic, which means he does not usually bring about happy results. Connected to Mercury we could hear some bad news, an aviation or automobile accident, and even an attempt to prevent news from getting out. Remember, whatever the news or events, under a Cancer Moon folks will react emotionally.
On Monday the seasonal change takes place as the Sun enters Libra. A chart erected for that moment reveals clues as to what the season will bring. Here is a link to the article I wrote about the fall season in Motif Magazine. http://motifri.com/look-up-the-stars-tell-all-for-the-season-ahead
This season will bring new efforts to conserve and protect the earth. We are witnessing it already with the global climate strike. This season seeds will be planted that will result in new technologies in connection to the environment.
Early Tuesday morning the Moon enters Leo. The energy shifts, folks want to be appreciated when Moon is in Leo. This Moon favors leadership, creativity and in general can be quite optimistic. It is a red letter day as Mercury, the speedy little traveler makes a sweet connection with Jupiter the Greater Benefic. This aspect favors signing contracts, reaching agreements and making announcements. Take advantage of this day in any way you can because the energy is favorable.
Wednesday, with the Moon still in Leo Venus, ruler of love and money, squares off with that bad boy Saturn. This connection with Saturn reminds us to pay attention to how much we are spending. Mind the budget Saturn warns. Venus could care less about the budget, she sees it, likes it, thinks it's pretty and wants it. In matters of the heart, Venus / Saturn connections can mean a slow start to a relationship and can bring a commitment. The warning here is that the Saturn person in the relationship might want to put a lid on the Venus person. Saturn likes to limit, contract and control. Best to think things through before making that commitment.
Thoughts about planetary cycles, Sun signs and Moon Signs, Love, Money, government, foolish politicians, silly celebrities and how Pluto in Capricorn was changed the world. Now it's Aquarius's turn.

Quarter Moon - Where the Action Is
We hear lots about the New Moon and the Full Moon but very
often events occur around the Quarter Moons.
The First Quarter Moon occurs halfway between the New Moon and Full
Moon. This is the waxing Moon, the Moon
gets bigger every night until it reaches fullness. Then each night it begins to diminish. When it is halfway between the Full Moon and
the next New Moon it reaches the Third Quarter stage. This is the waning Moon.
The current First Quarter Moon occurs February 25th
with the Sun in Pisces and the Moon in Gemini.
Gemini Moon is a busy Moon, folks are more adaptable under this Moon and
tend to be more talkative. Gemini Moon enhances our ability to see both sides
of the picture which can be a good thing but it inhibits the decision making
process. This will be a very busy
day. Short trips, conversations, and overloaded
in boxes are just a few threads that will have to be pulled together.
While the Moon is in the waxing phase it is a good time to
start something that you wish to see grow.
A waxing Moon in Cancer is the optimal time as Cancer is a very fertile
sign. This week the Moon enters Cancer
at 7:50 AM on Friday morning, the 27th and remains there until Sunday evening
at 6:43 PM when Moon enters fiery Leo.
But before the Moon enters Leo on Sunday it becomes “void
of course”. When the Moon makes its
last major connection to another planet and will make no other connections
until it moves into the next sign, it is said to be void of course. Voids can last for seconds, minutes or
days. With the current planetary lineup
there are long periods of void of course.
Things begun under a void of course Moon have unexpected
results. One’s judgment can be faulty
and facts are not readily at hand. This
period is best for routine work.
Meditation and spiritual matters work well during this period. It’s a great time to simply kick back.
Despite all this Sunday will be a busy day with some
unusual activity going on. Mercury in
Aquarius connects with Uranus and Jupiter during the daylight hours. Mercury rules all kinds of communication,
transportation, the wind, the mind and how we process information. Uranus nudges our urge to freedom bringing
change that often occurs suddenly.
Mercury and Uranus together can signal aviation disasters, sudden
destructive winds, communication and transportation snafus. Jupiter symbolizes optimism, enthusiasm, and
justice. The planet of expansion,
Jupiter brings abundance. A Mercury / Jupiter connection can bring a lot of hot
air. Expect a lot of political
pontificating coming from the Sunday morning talk shows.
When Jupiter catches up to Uranus early Tuesday morning sparks
will fly. Justice, liberty and freedom
are themes splashed across the headlines.
Jupiter always brings something big while Uranus is a true wild card
bringing something totally unexpected.
On Wednesday, March 4th Moon enters practical
Virgo. Moon in Virgo is a great time to
organize messy kitchen drawers, sort through papers and any tasks that require
attention to detail. We get concerned
about our diet and health issues while Moon travels through Virgo. Venus has a busy day on Wednesday touching
base with Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto.
Venus rules love and money, she is a yin planet so has the ability to
attract. We don’t feel much like
working when Venus is around, we just want to have fun. Venus and Uranus together in the sky signals
some unusual and very different types of relationships. This can be an exciting combo but love
affairs begun under this influence while they have a lot of sizzle and pop they
can fizzle and plop just as quickly.
Venus with Pluto can bring love affairs that have a fated feel to them,
almost an obsession. Often issues of
power and control come to the surface in existing relationships. Venus’ active presence in the lead up to the
Full Moon brings some sweetness and light to all situations. Collaboration is a key word for Venus’
involvement.
The Full Moon in Virgo on Thursday, March 5th
triggers a lot of communication, news reports and a search for truths that are
not readily apparent. Virgo Moon forces
attention to detail and there is danger of not seeing the forest for the
trees. Step back and take a look at your
own situation and try to gain some objectivity.
After the Full Moon it is Mars’ turn to take the
wheel. Unlike Venus, Mars is set to light
the fuse, the more chaos the merrier.
Stay tuned for the next Quarter Moon installment.

Moon in Cancer sets up a Wild Weekend
Moon enters Cancer Friday, August 06, 2010 at 5:50 PM EDT and before the night is through touches base with all the big boys involved in the great, rare cardinal t-square currently in the sky. The big boys, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto are slow movers and have been in orb of one another for some time. The moon often acts as a trigger setting off the prevalent energies. Moon in Cancer operates at full bore. The emotions, the instinct and the needs of people belong to this moon; here those energies are strong and easily manifested. Venus shifts gears and enters her home sign of Libra before midnight. Over the weekend Venus first opposes Uranus (Saturday morning) then conjuncts Saturn (Sunday afternoon). Venus is all about love, money, the arts, and relationships of all kinds, think of these attributes combined with, first, Mr. Anything Goes, (and the more surprising the better), Uranus. Then, blending with uptight, traditional, prim and proper Saturn, I would guess a wild Saturday night ends up with a wicked hangover Sunday morning. All of this with Moon in Cancer, ruler of our emotions, has us acting and reacting through our gut, logic is thrown by the wayside. Moon goes void of course Saturday afternoon, August 7, 2010 at 2:46 PM EDT and is void for the rest of the day until Sunday evening, August 8, 2010 at 7:23 PM EDT. Void of course moon is great for meditation and quiet contemplation. It is not a good time to make a decision. With Venus bouncing between Uranus and Saturn all weekend you may want to put the brakes on when it comes to commitment or even a one night stand and definitely keep your money safe, try to avoid impulse buying. Moon moves into Leo Sunday night and Venus, under this Leo for lover's moon, butting heads with Jupiter and Pluto Monday and Tuesday, insures that the rock and roll roller coaster is not over yet. We may have to wait until Moon moves into Virgo, Tuesday night, August 10, 2010 at 7:01 PM EDT to sort things out. Sorting out is what Virgo moon does and we will be reviewing and nit-picking every move, every word and every gesture, he, she or it made over the weekend. People will be calling their astrologer, doctor, lawyer, therapist or Tarot card reader to get a clearer picture. What happened?
